HORIZON

Sniper rifle

Free Circuit

A skeletal black rifle adapted from survey equipment. The open rail chassis keeps weight manageable, while a quick cam bolt trades peak impact for a faster second observation and shot.

01

Operating principle

A skeletal black rifle adapted from survey equipment. The open rail chassis keeps weight manageable, while a quick cam bolt trades peak impact for a faster second observation and shot.

02

Modification choices

A variable optic trades a broad view for precise distant identification. A bipod steadies a fixed position but prevents a fast exit. A thermal baffle delays heat shimmer; it does not hide scope glare.

03

Engagement doctrine

Observe before firing and relocate after revealing your line. Best for Trio or Squads overwatch; Solo users need a close backup. In PvE, wait for a machine’s weak component to open.

04

Strengths, limits & counters

Useful follow-up speed, but dust enters the open chassis during sustained movement. Force repeated relocations and shorten the range.

05

Reading the specifications

Damage is one unarmored torso hit at close range; a burst rifle reports one projectile, not an entire burst. Rate is nominal cycling speed; burst pauses, charging, cooling and reloads reduce sustained output. Capacity counts projectiles, shells or charges per load. Range describes the intended engagement distance. Recoil is a 0–100 control-demand index: lower is steadier, not weaker.

06

Operators & modes

Recommended operators: SABLE, ECHO. The displayed range is 210 metres in this fictional design. Treat it as a planning guide: sightlines, armor and movement still decide the encounter.
