01

Before the blackout

Idris Kane guarded the archive when the first blackout trapped thousands outside. He still wears the Directorate shield, believing he can turn its authority into a public shelter.

02

Passive ability

Brace reduces frontal stagger while stationary. Side and rear hits receive no protection.

03

Active ability

Gateplate unfolds a waist-high shield for twelve seconds. Enemies can vault it, and its hinges remain destructible.

04

Signature ability

Safe Corridor links two plates into a brief protected revive lane. Explosives still travel over its open roof.

05

Strengths, limits & counters

Rook turns exposed crossings into controlled fights but rotates slowly. Split your angles or force him off the plate with elevated fire.

06

Your place in the team

Solo: use a plate to break sight before healing. Duo: protect a partner’s revive. Trio: anchor the central angle while two allies spread. Squads: build Safe Corridor only after teammates confirm the roof above it is clear.

07

Recommended loadout

MANDAT rewards the stable firing position behind Gateplate. WARD remains ready during the rifle’s long reload. Avoid carrying a second heavy weapon that further delays a rescue rotation.

08

Reading the specifications

Mobility, armor and utility use ratings from 0 to 100; a higher value means more capability in that category. Armor is not a health total or a percentage of damage blocked. Ratings compare operators only, not operators with vehicles.
