Function & route
An open-wheel two-seat buggy assembled in the dock workshops. Long-travel suspension carries a driver and a passenger across rubble while an exposed roll cage keeps the silhouette compact. The passenger can use a carried weapon, trading a stable firing platform for mobility.
Driving technique
Brake before a rubble crest to keep both axles on the ground. The rear end rotates easily on wet concrete, allowing a quick exit turn but demanding small steering corrections. Passenger aim degrades over uneven terrain.
Vulnerabilities
Exposed tires and the open passenger bay are the main weaknesses. One damaged wheel reduces cornering before it stops the vehicle. Roofline ambushes threaten both occupants, and the cage offers little protection from sustained fire.
Extraction protocol
Kestrel fits Duo rotations: one player drives while the other reads the map and watches pursuit. In Trio or Squads, use it as an advance pair rather than splitting the whole team across exposed roads. Park nose-out so the exit does not require reversing.
Reading the specifications
Armor and mobility are vehicle-only ratings from 0 to 100; higher means more protection or easier route handling. Armor is not hit points or a damage-reduction percentage. Mobility is separate from top speed: a fast vehicle can still turn poorly or depend on a prepared route.
Operators & modes
Recommended operators: VECTOR, LATCH. Capacity is 2 occupants, including the driver. The specifications describe 142 km/h maximum speed under favorable conditions; damage, terrain and cargo reduce practical performance. A vehicle has no ownership-based combat bonuses.
